ASICS collaboration with Earls Collective reinterprets the GT-2160 sneakers through an ancestral and cultural lens. Infused with the clothing brand founder Lewi Brown's Māori heritage, they feature a woven base layer with plum-brown suede overlays and mint-green accents, paying homage to the culture's touchstones of flax weaving and 'pounamu'. Meanwhile, the kaleidoscopic printed sockliner celebrates Brown’s late grandfather Wiremu and their shared love of pāua, a New Zealand species of edible sea snails.
